Mike brings to the firm a strong appreciation of and approach to Landscape Architecture as a unique blend of art and science. He plays a key role in the execution of major development planning and design projects for the firm. A registered landscape architect in Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New York, and Vermont, Mike brings over 40 years of experience in landscape architecture, land use, and development planning. His work spans a broad spectrum of both public and private projects, with professional specialties including campus planning and design, institutional and corporate landscapes, educational facilities, parks and recreation areas, senior housing communities, and urban design. Mike is also known for his thoughtful approach to private residential projects, where he integrates a personalized design process.
Mike’s planning and design efforts have been the focus of numerous feature articles in journals and magazines including Landscape Architecture, Architectural Record, Garden Design, Builder, Better Homes and Gardens, Colonial Architecture, and Connecticut Magazine.
Mike received a Bachelor of Science, Summa Cum Laude, in Environmental Design from the University of Connecticut and a Master of Landscape Architecture from the University of Massachusetts.
In addition to his professional work, Mike frequently lectures on landscape design and related subjects. He has served as a part-time faculty member in the University of Connecticut’s Landscape Architecture Program and has taught courses through the Landscape Design Study School of the Federated Garden Clubs of Connecticut. He was also an active member of the Connecticut Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA), serving on its Executive Board and various committees.
When he’s not immersed in site plans and plant palettes, Mike enjoys travelling around the country and abroad while visiting unique places and exploring different cultures. He also balances spending time with his family with a number of outdoor activities like hiking, cycling, golfing, and tending to his personal garden.
