Originally opened in 1974, Westfarms is a 1,310,000 square foot premier regional shopping center. The shopping center was later expanded to include a total of 160 fine shops and services along with five major retailers as anchor stores.

Richter & Cegan was responsible for site planning and design work for the expansion. Additional plantings and other landscape improvements at key locations enhance the shopping experience. Reinforced turf integrated with planted islands reduces the amount of impervious surface while providing much needed additional parking during the peak shopping seasons.
