Glastonbury Riverfront Community Center
Glastonbury, CT
Set within the Glastonbury Riverfront Park, native and naturalized plantings integrate the Community Center into this popular park along the Connecticut River.
Situated on the banks of the Connecticut River, the Community Center is located at the north end of the 100+ acre Glastonbury Riverfront Park, also planned and designed by Richter & Cegan. The former brownfield site was remediated and transformed into a popular town destination providing a wide range of activities and services, including the town Senior Center.
The Community Center is directly connected to other park amenities including playgrounds, a signature fountain, active recreation spaces, the Boathouse and other riverfront activities. An outdoor terrace overlooks the park and the Connecticut River beyond. Native plantings visually enhance the Community Center while also helping to seamlessly blend the site amenities with the surrounding park, complementing its location along the Connecticut River.
