A signature Student Commons courtyard gathering space with seat walls and central fountain to create a variety of spaces while defining busy campus circulation routes.

As part of the renovation and expansion of the Student Commons, the adjacent new courtyard provides a signature outdoor gathering and event campus space. Walks, steps, and ramps accommodate circulation connections between the Commons and dorms, and provide complete accessibility. Seat walls and central fountain create a variety of spaces and help define circulation routes. Terraced seat walls provide an informal lawn amphitheater space. Plantings screen and define views while helping to unify the surrounding facades.

In conjunction with the Ryan Matura Library renovations, a new entry plaza redefines the library entry and creates a complementary focal point on the campus central quad across from the Chapel. The plaza provides a new campus gathering space featuring a water wall with seating and tree groves.
